Job Summary
The Integrated Security Service Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of security systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and intrusion alarm systems. The technician ensures that all systems are functioning properly and meet client specifications while providing exceptional customer service and support.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Install and configure security systems, including CCTV cameras, alarms, access control systems, and other integrated security technologies.
- Ensure all equipment is installed to company and industry standards and set up any necessary software for system monitoring.
- Perform regular maintenance checks on security systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues in security systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair any malfunctions in security equipment, such as cameras, alarm sensors, control panels, and wiring.
- Conduct system inspections, audits, and quality control checks.
- Provide guidance and training to less experienced technicians.
- Replace or upgrade faulty parts as needed.
- Provide ongoing support and training to clients on system usage and troubleshooting.
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve any technical issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with clients to assess their needs and suggest appropriate security solutions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and vendors.
- Maintain accurate records of system installations, repairs, maintenance tasks, and equipment inventory.
- Complete documentation related to installation and service activities.
- Provide detailed reports on any issues, repairs, and recommendations for improvements.
- Adhere to industry standards, codes, and regulations for all installations and maintenance procedures.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during installation and service visits.
- Work closely with internal departments and vendors to resolve complex technical issues when required.
- Remain updated on the latest security alarm technologies and advancements.
- Assist in the development of standard operating procedures and best practices.
- Other duties as business needs require.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 or more years of experience in alarm system installation, service, or related field.
- Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
- Strong knowledge of alarm system components, programming, and integration.
- Knowledge of local codes, regulations, and safety standards related to security installations.
- Sound problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills. Detail-oriented and demonstrates technical aptitude.
- Skilled at time management and staying organized. Work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Solid communication and teamwork skills. Interact professionally with employees, customers, and vendors.
- Industry certifications (e.g., ESA Certified Alarm Technician, NICET) preferred.
- Pass drug screening and background requirements.
- Valid driver's license and insurance-approved driving record. Maintain compliance with SafeTouch’s fleet driving policy.
Physical Requirements
- Work inside and outside, including attics, crawl spaces, and roofs.
- Remain stationary at a desk, standing, and moving from place to place for prolonged periods.
- Move equipment and materials up to 50 pounds.
- Observe details at close range.
- Handle products, take notes, operate technology, and present information.
- Read documents and presentations using electronic devices and hard copy materials while interacting with others.
- Exchange accurate information in person, over the phone, in writing, and electronically.
- Communicate clearly and articulately for presentations and interpersonal interactions so others will understand.
- Drive to work, client sites, and as business needs require.
- Navigate uneven or slippery surfaces or both.
- Safely ascend and descend stairs and ladders as needed.
- Bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods.
Job Type: Full-time, non-exempt
Core Work Hours/Availability: Monday – Friday. Overtime as business needs require. On-call on a rotational basis.
