Job Description:
We are seeking a Maintenance/Shift Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the Eau Palm Beach team, you will play an essential role in delivering exceptional service to our guests, upholding the standards of our Forbes Five-Star resort. The ideal candidate must obtain knowledge of and experience in general trades and building maintenance to include plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry repairs, heating and air-conditioning operation and maintenance, knowledge of the proper use of hand and power tools. The Shift Engineer will also be responsible for common repairs in guestrooms and public areas of the resort.
This position is a FLEX (AM / PM) position, and all candidates must be able to work weekends, holidays, and nights. We have a full-time position available.
Work Schedule Needed: 3:00 PM -- 11:00 PM
Essential Qualifications:
- High School graduate or G.E.D. and vocational/technical background.
- Ability to communicate in English with hotel guest, visitors and staff to their understanding.
- Ability to provide legible communication.
- Valid Vehicle Operators License
- Trade school or apprenticeship in general maintenance. (desired)
- 2+ years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience. (desired)
- Ability to compute mathematical calculations. (desired)
Essential Skills:
- Knowledge in making minor repairs and touch-ups to all furnishings.
- Ability to perform basic plumbing and HVAC techniques.
- Knowledge of painting, patching and wall vinyl repair.
- Basic knowledge of lock function and repair.
- Ability to work cohesively as a team member.
- Ability to work in and around the public in a positive and professional manner.
- Ability to adapt to priority changes of workflow or requirements.
- Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision.
- Ability to properly and safely use hand and power tools.
- Ability to think clearly under high pressure or emergency situations.
