We are currently seeking a diligent and experienced Property Accountant with experience in multifamily property management to join our dynamic on-site team in Miami. If you possess a solid background in real estate accounting and bilingual proficiency, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Oversee comprehensive accounting activities for multiple private equity funds, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for a portfolio of multifamily properties.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support tax return preparation by collaborating with tax professionals to ensure compliance with all regulations.
  • Coordinate with external property accountants, property management teams, and fund administrators to ensure smooth financial reporting and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting for property operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and recommend process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and assist with special projects as needed.
  • Assist with capital calls, distributions, and preparation of partner capital statements.
  • Review and manage schedules related to property insurance, taxes, depreciation, and more.
  • Act as a key point of contact for external auditors during audits.
  • Manage wire transfers, ACH payments, and internal bank transfers.
  • Apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to perform financial analysis and reporting

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience within the real estate sector, HOA is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Great Plains is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong comprehension of financial reporting, tax compliance, and intercompany accounting.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Effective communication skills, able to interact harmoniously with individuals at all levels within the organization and external entities.
  • Able to speak English and Spanish, required
