Job Summary:

The Facilities Engineering Technician will provide technical expertise and support in the areas of facilities management, computer-aided design (CAD) drafting, space management, and asset management. The role requires a combination of technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or within a team to ensure the effective operation of facilities systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize CAD software to create, update, and modify technical drawings and plans for facilities projects.
• Conduct site visits to gather field measurements and verify existing facility conditions.
• Assist in space planning and management, including updating master space plans and tracking space allocations.
• Support asset management activities, including maintaining accurate inventory records and tracking furniture and equipment.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to execute facilities projects and resolve technical issues.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation to support facilities planning and decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, building codes, and organizational policies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of facilities management principles and best practices.

Education:

• Associate or bachelors degree in architecture, engineering, computer-aided design (CAD), or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum of two years of experience in a CAD drafting or design role, preferably within facilities management or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience with facilities management principles, including space management, planning, and asset management.

Certifications:

• Certification in AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software is highly desirable.
• Additional certifications in facilities management or related areas are a plus.

Clearance Requirement:

Top Secret.

Work Conditions:

Standard office environment with occasional on-site fieldwork to evaluate facilities.

May require light physical activity, including lifting objects up to 25 pounds.

Potential for exposure to varied work conditions based on facilities inspections.
