Overview:

WiredPeople is looking for a Medical Record Abstractor to join our team working remotely supporting project teams based in Tallahassee, Florida. This role is full-time, 40 hours per week, and will work remotely supporting an EST time zone public health team. 

The ideal candidate is a high-energy individual with excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal communications.

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as lead medical record abstractor and participates in the planning, organizing, assigning, and reviewing the abstractions of the data collectors (DC).
  • Serves as a direct contact for medical record abstraction to other project sites.
  • Obtains patient medical records from the facilities.
  • Abstracts a minimum of three patient medical records weekly according to established procedures and protocols.
  • Performs medical record re-abstractions for staff as needed to ensure data quality.
  • Document all work in provided data system.
  • Presents project data and assists with marketing the project with providers and other community stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Four years of experience and a bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Computer skills, including data entry experience and the ability to navigate of variety of electronic medical record systems.
  • Experience in patient services, customer service, or related field interacting directly with clients
  • Ability to enter data in an accurate and timely manner and synthesize critical information into a succinct yet comprehensive narrative.
  • Ability to perform well with a team in a remote work environment
  • Strong professional communication skills.
