Overview:
WiredPeople is looking for a Medical Record Abstractor to join our team working remotely supporting project teams based in Tallahassee, Florida. This role is full-time, 40 hours per week, and will work remotely supporting an EST time zone public health team.
The ideal candidate is a high-energy individual with excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal communications.
Essential Functions:
- Serves as lead medical record abstractor and participates in the planning, organizing, assigning, and reviewing the abstractions of the data collectors (DC).
- Serves as a direct contact for medical record abstraction to other project sites.
- Obtains patient medical records from the facilities.
- Abstracts a minimum of three patient medical records weekly according to established procedures and protocols.
- Performs medical record re-abstractions for staff as needed to ensure data quality.
- Document all work in provided data system.
- Presents project data and assists with marketing the project with providers and other community stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Four years of experience and a bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Computer skills, including data entry experience and the ability to navigate of variety of electronic medical record systems.
- Experience in patient services, customer service, or related field interacting directly with clients
- Ability to enter data in an accurate and timely manner and synthesize critical information into a succinct yet comprehensive narrative.
- Ability to perform well with a team in a remote work environment
- Strong professional communication skills.
