We're seeking a morally driven Compliance & Quality Specialist to join our team in ensuring regulatory compliance and improving quality. As a Compliance & Quality Specialist at Banyan, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our commitment to regulatory excellence, safety, and an optimal client experience. You will lead a wide variety of exciting initiatives, including managing licensure renewals, overseeing program openings and acquisitions, and driving continuous process improvements across all levels of care and departments.

Position Details:

  • Reports to: VP of Compliance & Quality Assurance
  • Schedule: Full-time
  • Location: Pompano Beach, FL (On-site)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and manage federal, state, city, county, and agency facility licenses from initiation to completion.
  • Edit and write policies and procedures for behavioral healthcare services.
  • Liaise with state and county agencies to oversee the issuance of all levels of care program and facility licenses.
  • Monitor and track license renewals for existing facility licenses.
  • Ensure program compliance with federal, state, and local regulations by collaborating with the internal team.
  • Serve as a resource for agency regulations, laws, and standards.
  • Stay updated on changes to standards and requirements, communicating relevant information to internal teams.
  • Advise staff on developing and implementing procedures to sustain compliance, including designing audit tools and analyzing data.
  • Manage compliance database systems, including training, updates, and report generation.
  • Implement Joint Commission Standards across all Banyan companies to achieve and maintain accreditation.
  • Oversee the implementation of state regulations and certification requirements.
  • Lead the creation and evaluation of annual Performance Improvement projects.
  • Update and revise the annual Disaster Plan, conducting drills and meetings as required.
  • Collaborate on external data comparisons and report analysis.
  • Participate in Compliance & Quality teams as directed by the direct supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field with a focus on healthcare compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare entities and regulations (e.g. Joint Commission, DCF, AHCA, CARF) and how they apply to behavioral and mental healthcare settings.
  • Proven experience in auditing, data analysis, and interpreting complex healthcare data to identify risks and improve compliance.
  • Expertise in quality improvement methodologies (e.g., PDSA, Lean, Six Sigma) and their application in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to communicate effectively with clinical teams.
  • Experience working with EHR/EMR systems and proficiency in regulatory compliance software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks while ensuring attention to detail and accuracy in compliance efforts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CHC, CHPC, CCEP, CMA, PMP, CPHQ, CPHRM, or CHQ.
  • Experience in behavioral/mental health, acute care, detox, or mental health facilities.
  • Familiarity with KIPU EMR system.
