Job DescriptionJob Summary:
The Fitness Instructor will facilitate and oversee programs and services related to fitness.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides communication, direction, and leadership to fitness services and programs.
- Develops periodic schedules for classes and other fitness services.
- Teaches fitness classes, as needed.
- Conducts fitness equipment demonstrations, as needed.
- Ensures fitness areas and equipment are clean and safe.
- Drafts and maintains records and reports related to services and programs provided, which may include tracking attendance, participation, and other metrics.
- Conducts, and analyzes the results of, surveys and interviews to gauge satisfaction with current programs and services and interest in new programs and services.
- Drafts promotional materials, which may include communication via social media, email, website(s), apps, and/or newsletters, outlining new and existing services and programs offered.
- Assists with preparation and implementation of budgets.
- Supporting the development and delivery of fitness programs.
- Assisting members in reaching individual goals.
- Assisting in maintaining and improving the goals of the organization.
- Ensuring the safety of members during training sessions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a variety of personalities.
- Thorough understanding of proper fitness practices.
- Ability to demonstrate or explain the proper use of all equipment in the fitness center.
- Ability to teach various fitness classes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to produce effective and motivating presentations and training programs.
- Organized, with attention to detail.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in related field required.
- At least three years of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to traverse wellness facility and inspect all equipment.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
