So, what will the Head Librarian at Terrestris do?
The Head Librarian is responsible for overseeing and administering all services provided under the contract, ensuring that all aspects of contract performance are in compliance with the specified requirements. This includes developing, implementing, and monitoring plans and procedures to deliver the outlined services. The Head Librarian will provide leadership and supervision for all contractor employees, coordinate and manage on-site operations, and ensure that the work is completed in accordance with the contract's terms and timelines. The role also includes serving as the Head Librarian, overseeing library services, ensuring compliance with organizational guidelines, and managing library collections.
What does a typical day look like for a Head Librarian?
A Head Librarian's day is dynamic. The role involves overseeing contract performance, ensuring compliance with plans and procedures, and supervising contractor employees. They attend meetings with stakeholders such as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and military personnel, taking detailed minutes for submission. The Head Librarian also manages library services, ensuring materials meet guidelines and supervising staff. They prepare progress reports, address any issues, and ensure that all contract obligations are met. The day ends with organizing tasks and ensuring everything is on track for successful project completion.
What qualifications do you look for?
Youmight be the person we're looking for if you have:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field, or a minimum of two (2) years of relevant management experience.
- A Bachelor's degree in Library Science, or a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a librarian, or a combination of education and experience in library science.
Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years of contract management or supervisory experience.
- Previous experience in library management and administration, including cataloging and collection management.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to effectively supervise, manage, and communicate with team members and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of library management systems and practices.
Security Clearance:
- Must possess a Top Secret Security Clearance or be eligible to obtain one.
