Job Summary Provides customer service and technical support to the OneStop staff, University staff and students. Diagnoses errors or technical problems and determines proper solutions and/or recommendation for new equipment purchasing. Manages onsite installation, repairs, maintenance, and test tasks of computing devices.
Performs trouble shooting for Windows/Apple operating systems, including Division of IT supported software and domains.
Maintains OneStop website and associated point of contact service resources.
Maintains, installs, configures and troubleshoots networks devices such as printers, scanners, desktop computers/laptops, assigned mobile devices and their supported software.
Utilizes remote assistance software or other communication methods for troubleshooting. Provides technical support to staff, conference room and event activities.
Interprets and provides recommendations on procedures for network security, desktop images, software and equipment purchasing to improve operations for the department.
Performs other related duties as assigned or directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Performs essential duties in any emergencies such as hurricanes, public health emergencies, and/or any other university emergency closing. The employee is expected to be able to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification of a department administrator.
Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience in the field; or technical certification or associated degree.
Desired Qualifications Experience with Systems Design, Systems Administration, Applications Programming/Analysis, Network Management, Database Administration, Information Security, Multi-Media, or Hardware Support.
Experience troubleshooting, testing, repairing and servicing technical equipment.
IT Customer service experience.
Knowledge of Windows, Linux/Unix and OS X.
Familiarity with Apple tablet devices and applications.
