Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Certified Outboard Engine Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with outboard engines, possess relevant certifications, and maintain a valid and clean driving record. If you are passionate about the marine industry, enjoy troubleshooting and repairing outboard engines, and are dedicated to delivering excellent customer service, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and service outboard engines in accordance with manufacturer specifications
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on outboard engines
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently
- Mounting and rigging of all major outboard brands
- Install and repair 12 volt systems
- Complete service reports and maintain accurate records of work performed
- Proficiently use computer diagnostic tools
- Inventory control of materials used for the job
- Install and repair outboard hydraulic steering systems
- Stay current on industry trends and advancements
- Provide labor and time estimates for repairs
- Inspect and test vessels for necessary adjustments
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a marine technician. Yamaha experience/certification a must. Mercury and Honda experience a plus.
- Knowledge of diagnostic and repair equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- Computer knowledge
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Valid and clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Not objectionable to working outside
