Job Summary
The GSE Mechanic (Ground Support Equipment) is responsible for service and maintenance, keeping in good order all Ground Service Equipment at a designated station, keeping Eulen and other service agencies safe with reliable equipment that meets all local and governing laws reporting to the GSE Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Timely completion of repairs and maintenance on all equipment
- Change tires, batteries, starters, filters, fluids, hoses, etc.
- Provide troubleshooting and diagnostic assessment of ground support equipment as required
- Maintain, inspect, and build rebuild pumps, hydraulic cylinders, electric machinery, etc.
- Remove malfunctioning ground support equipment from service and ensure GSE is not returned to service until the malfunction has been properly diagnosed and repaired
- Will retain a motor vehicle driver's license for both airside/nonairside in good standing at all times
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment, in accordance with local health, safety, and security policies and procedures
- Fuel equipment as necessary with full regard for all safety and environmental requirements
- Repairs and services tow tractors, baggage carts, buses, trucks, and service vans
- Schedules periodic maintenance for ground support vehicles and equipment addressing whether repairs are needed
- Inspects GSE (ground support equipment) monthly, quarterly, and annual quality control checks on the equipment
- Respond to emergency service calls as well as accidents involving ground support equipment
Key Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be 18 years of age
- Minimum 1 years of relevant experience in diesel and gas maintenance of automobiles ground support equipment in a similar field
What you will need
- Must be able to speak and understand both English and Spanish
- Must be able to work safely in an environment containing caustic chemicals, cleaning materials, and noise
- Must have schedule flexibility for the weekend, holiday, and night shifts
- Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds in confined spaces
- Must be able to stand, lift, bend, push, and pull for extended periods of time
- Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather and elevated noise levels within the airport environment
- Have certification of completion in one of the following trades: Heavy duty/Commercial, Diesel, or Automotive mechanic license
Travel Requirement
- Must be flexible and willing to travel for work as required to the other stations
