Job Summary
The Refrigerator Maintenance Technician also known as 'Reefer Tech' is responsible for maintaining and repairing refrigerators and refrigeration units on our refrigerated trailers and trucks; ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. This role requires technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and a focus on customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform diagnostics and repair, starting and charging system, cooling, re-charge, and electrical including common fault codes.
Repairs include:
Performing leak detection procedures, compressor replacements, soldering refrigerant lines, evaporator/condenser replacements as well as front and rear main engine seal replacements. - Perform repair and maintenance on reefer units in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
- Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues with refrigerators, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
- Installation: Assist with the setup and installation of new refrigeration systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of service and repairs to assist in future maintenance needs.
- Safety Assurance: Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and environmental laws. Must conform to all safety and health requirements!
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Must have factory certification from Carrier or Thermo King
- Proven experience in refrigeration maintenance and repair, preferably in commercial settings.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
- Solid understanding of refrigeration systems, components, and controls.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and exhibit strong initiative and problem-solving skills.
Schedule
- Monday - Friday (8:00am-5:00pm)
- On-Call

Salary
- $80,000 - $89,000 Annually
