Position Summary
The Network Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and implementing robust network architectures to meet the company's specific needs. The role configures and maintains network devices for optimal performance and security and implements monitoring tools to continually assess network efficiency. They troubleshoot incidents to minimize disruptions, perform maintenance and upgrades and implement security measures to protect sensitive data.

Job Responsibilities:
•Plans, designs, and implements robust and scalable network architectures to meet the specific needs of the company.
•Configures and maintains network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, ensuring optimal performance and security.
•Implements and manages monitoring tools to continually assess network performance, upgrading as necessary throughout the asset lifecycle to optimize efficiency.
•Troubleshoots, conducts root cause analysis of incidents, and identifies appropriate solutions to resolve network issues to minimize disruptions to company's operations and maintain data integrity.
•Applies Agile methodologies to automate manual repeatable tasks through scripting, drives efficiency and eliminates errors, focuses on the business value delivered, and ITIL processes for operations support.
•Delivers innovative solutions and drive the stability and sustainability of the next-generation networks, while identifying and troubleshooting recurring platform issues.
•Conducts capacity planning to anticipate future network requirements based on the evolving needs of the business.
•Implements and manages security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs, to protect sensitive insurance data.
•Maintains an inventory of all network components, as well as maintenance agreements for communications equipment and circuits.
•Maintains comprehensive documentation for network configurations, procedures, and policies to facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure compliance with insurance industry standards.
•Collaborates with other IT teams, such as systems administrators and application developers, to ensure seamless integration and functionality of network systems supporting insurance operations.
Work Experience and Education:
•Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred; Software Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology preferred. Any other related discipline or commensurate work experience considered.
•5+ years of experience in Network Engineering or Software Systems with a Bachelor's degree or 3 years and a Master's degree.
Licenses & Certifications:
•Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) a plus.

The target salary range for this position is $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 annually.
The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
