PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Teacher is responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functionality as well as supporting the emotional wellbeing of the students. Teachers provide one-on-one and small group instruction, utilizing a variety of teaching techniques. Monitor and record student progress. Create daily lesson plans that align with the instructional objectives. Manage the classroom environment by organizing and monitoring student behavior. Other duties include services to ensure that all participants receive all tools necessary to successfully accomplish all aspects of the program and all grantor’s service-related requirements are successfully achieved.
JOB EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
1.. Must have a bachelor’s degree, with a State of Florida Certification (Temporary or Professional), or a completion of an approved Florida Childcare Professional Credential (FCCPC) with a National Child Development Associate (CDA)
2. Have a minimum of two years’ experience working as a teacher, teacher assistant, or similar role.
3. Have effective communication skills and the ability to establish good relationships with parents of the Afterschool Program.
4. Bilingual: English and Spanish, and the ability to communicate fluently in both languages
5. Must have passion and love to work with children.
6. Successfully pass background checks both local and nationally
7. Have a CPR or First Aid Certification
8. Ability to work with children and remain friendly, calm, and patient at all times.
9. Patience when dealing with students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
10.Resourceful and able to modify instructional materials as needed for students.
11. Excellent recordkeeping and highly attentive to detail
12. Able to collaborate with teachers and parents to develop instructional strategies for students.
13 Able to maintain focus and control in chaotic environments.
