JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for driving innovation and delivery within product purview, and cross-functionally across the organization. Utilize a deep understanding of business needs and exhibit best-in-class product development skills and Agile team leadership. Act as a subject matter expert, manage a development team and provide direction on and prioritization of all functional enhancements. Responsible for product decision and outcomes related to one or more digital solutions, with a mission to deliver continuous improvement, shape and implement solutions that transform user and guest experience.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with a cross-functional team, composed of developers and designers, responsible for product development from conception to launch.
  • Responsible for the why, when, and what of the product the engineering team will build.
  • Assign tasks/stories to developers every sprint, review daily development and progress, and provide final sign-off for features to move into production.
  • Work closely with upper management from multiple areas of the business; negotiate priority and scope regularly, at least weekly, to stay aligned with evolving stakeholder and developers' needs.
  • Perform demos on progress and show mock-ups to upper management and leadership (including the CEO).
  • Lead designers to ensure the creation of the best user experience solution for the digital product.
  • Ensure that all business needs and knowledge is transferred to the designers for optimal success of the product.
  • Responsible for holding weekly meetings with designers for updates and check-ins on progress, ensuring that the designers' progress is aligned with the vision and business needs.
  • Responsible for making sure a backlog exists and manage prioritization to ensure that stories (and defects) are the top priority for immediate release.
  • Actively lead daily business analysis, transforming business requirements into user stories and defining acceptance criteria for the current and next iteration. Close gap in language and communication between business and engineers.
  • Conduct team estimation sessions using data-driven and point-based approach.
  • Communicate the team's work status to the stakeholder community (along with educating the stakeholders on the delivery process), including announcing all releases.
  • Educate the team in various aspects of the business domain, devoting ample time to team discussions on the business intent/motivations for stories (particularly during Iteration Planning and Modeling).
  • Track down answers (domain information) to ensure timely decisions, and coordinate access to domain experts when more appropriate than relaying the information directly.
  • Recognize the constraints around delivery and actively strive to enable team productivity and focus avoiding inconsistencies in requirements, reducing complexity where possible, and actively striving to reduce bottlenecks.
  • Perform other job-related functions as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

DEGREE TYPE: Bachelor's Degree

FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Engineering, Business, Economics, Management Science, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in Information Technology, Product Development or Product Support

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of modern product delivery practices (agile, lean, etc.) where product design and delivery are parallel activities.
  • Knowledge of value canvasing and business case development.
  • Experience with product discovery approaches and conducting end-user research.
  • Experience with hypothesis driven development and product experimentation.
  • Experience with design thinking and facilitation of design thinking workshops.
  • Experience with persuasive communication skills to influence and motivate to achieve objectives.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong listening, presentation, and people skills.
  • Ability to form essential links/partnerships between product owners and the team.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Strong initiative, priority setting, and collaboration skills.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

  • Certificate in Scrum Master or Scrum Product Owner preferred.
