POSITION SUMMARY:
The Engineer is responsible for technical standards and reliability of airframe, engines, systems, APU's, components, and accessories. Plans, coordinates, directs, and performs engineering assignments involving specifications for, and design changes or alterations to airframe, engines, systems, APU's, components and accessories as well as field or shop equipment as might be necessary. Establishes root cause analysis and remedies for wear, malfunctions, or premature removals. Analyzes and evaluates aircraft and associated equipment proposals. Prepares technical data, procedures, reports, drawings, manuals, and other required publications. The Engineer prepares engineering orders and repair specification packages for products based on approved data. This position reports to the Director of Technical Services.
Job Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:
- Provide technical assistance to operational departments and repair providers to support aircraft operations, engine repairs and/or maintenance.
- Review aircraft reliability data and implements corrective actions via engineering modification and/or repair documents in support of achieving aircraft technical dispatch reliability (TDR) goals.
- Establish build standards and specifications for engines, APUs and components.
- Develop and issues engineering orders to accomplish major and minor repairs, modifications and alterations to airframe, engines, systems, APU's, components, and accessories.
- Manage and issue changes made to company maintenance procedures specified in the manufacturers' manuals by Engineering Technical Notice ETN's.
- Manage and issue company special maintenance actions by Fleet Campaign Directives.
- Develop engineering procedures, standards, and process specifications to comply with Airworthiness Directives and other regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate damaged airframe, engines, systems, APU's, components, and accessories and provide solutions beyond the applicable manual limitations in accordance with regulatory and original equipment manufacturer requirements.
- Identify new technologies that will improve operational performance and reliability.
- Review Service Bulletins, Service Letters, and other service documents to determine applicability.
- Perform cost benefit analysis to determine effectiveness of proposed modifications.
- Coordinate engineering functions with regulatory agencies as required for approval for major repairs and alterations.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Science or Engineering, and/or Certification in Aviation (E.g. A & P license) with relevant experience.
- Prior min. 3 years of engineering experience, preferably with Boeing 767 aircraft.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting and resolving maintenance and system issues.
- Working knowledge of schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Familiar with FAA Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, Supplemental Type Certificates Fleet specific OEM Manuals.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Working knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance tracking programs necessary to perform job functions.
- Excellent oral, written, and communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal and social skills to build a good rapport. Maintain communication with all involved parties on a project.
- Interact effectively with executives, management, vendors, and staff to meet corporate objectives.

- Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence that meets Amerijet's insurance standards.
- Pass a ten (10) years criminal record background check for SIDA badge.
- Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position will not have direct reports but may require providing training for new/existing team members.
Language Skills:
The employee must possess strong interpersonal and communications skills, be able to effectively present information, respond to questions, and proficiently write reports and business correspondence.
Physical Activities and Requirements of the Position:
Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Exerts up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally for office supplies and equipment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; move about the facility. Some light physical effort required.
Must be able to work well under pressure.
Domestic/International travel and overtime are required when necessary.
